ACS Surgery Weekly Curriculum

The ACS Surgery Weekly Curriculum is a convenient email-based program that guides residents through an ongoing study of the key elements of general surgery from ACS Surgery, the official textbook of the American College of Surgeons. The program is simple and economical. Every week, we send you and your residents an email with 4 to 5 questions based on a particular condition or procedure recently updated or revised in ACS Surgery. Your residents review the ACS Surgery chapter content by using a convenient link included in the weekly email, and then they go to ACS Surgery Online (provided to you and all your resident as part of your ACS Surgery Weekly Curriculum subscription). There, they'll be able to take the weekly test online and receive immediate feedback on how they have done with detailed discussions of topic and the answers, as well as access to the full text of the related chapter for additional review.

In addition, beginning July 1st, the ACS Surgery Weekly Curriculum will offer two tracks: Junior and Senior! We're excited to announce an expanded learning opportunity for surgical residency programs: a new, two-tiered Weekly Curriculum. Subscribers will continue to enjoy the convenience and effectiveness of ACS Surgery Weekly Curriculum. Each week, there will be two sets of 5 questions emailed: one set will be tailored to Junior residents, and the other set to Senior residents. These two tracks will allow increased exposure to topics and conditions encountered in general surgery residency training and will give trainees additional experience with multiple-choice format questions, as encountered on the In-Training Examination (ABSITE) and American Board of Surgery Qualifying exam.

More than ever, ACS Surgery Weekly Curriculum offers the tools you need to help efficiently manage your program while ensuring that your residents effectively learn the most up-to-date, authoritative content available. Subscribers to both tracks will continue to enjoy the convenience and effectiveness of ACS Surgery Weekly Curriculum, available exclusively through ACS Surgery. Please click here to learn more about the planned changes and improvements, all designed to enhance the educational experience and elevate your personal results.

If you prefer to review the content in print, you also receive a copy of the bound ACS Surgery reference in addition to the weekly curriculum emails and an annual subscription to ACS Surgery Online. Altogether, the cost is just $1,285 for an unlimited number of residents.

Don't miss out on the opportunity to give your residents Weekly Curriculum questions tailored to their level. For more information on the program and the topics planned for coverage in the first two months of the 2010–2011 term, please click here to review the schedule for the Junior track and please click here to review the schedule for the Senior track. I think you'll agree that this is a comprehensive and affordable aid to your educational program.
